Marketplace research in your AI assistant
Connect Claude to DataPinter using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Discover products, compare sellers, explore keywords, and research affiliate performance through conversation.
Before you connect
Both free and paid DataPinter accounts can use the MCP connector. It follows your existing DataPinter plan entitlements: you can use the marketplace features included in your plan, within your account quota. Connecting does not unlock additional paid features.
Create a DataPinter account or sign in with your existing account. You also need an assistant account that supports remote MCP connectors. Availability depends on your assistant and workspace settings; a workspace owner may need to enable the connector.
No DataPinter API key or separate API plan is required. MCP uses your DataPinter account features and quota, rather than API credits.
Connect DataPinter to Claude
Use this server URL when adding a custom connector:
Loading the MCP server URL…
- Open Claude → Customize → Connectors and choose the option to add a custom connector.
- Enter DataPinter as the name and paste the MCP server URL shown above.
- Add the connector and connect your account. If prompted for authentication, choose OAuth sign-in with automatic client registration.
- Sign in to DataPinter, review the requested access, and select Allow. Your DataPinter password is not shared with the assistant.
- Return to Claude. In a conversation, open + → Connectors, enable DataPinter, and ask a research question.
In a Team or Enterprise workspace, an owner must add the connector before members connect their individual DataPinter accounts. Menu labels can vary. See Claude’s official connector guide for current instructions.
What you can research
- Products and categories: search and browse Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada, Tokopedia, Amazon, Alibaba, Blibli, and Temu.
- Sellers: find stores and explore their catalogs where supported.
- Product metrics: retrieve available details, prices, reported sales, revenue, and statistics.
- Affiliates: research available Shopee and TikTok Shop creator profiles and performance, plus Shopee commission information.
- Keywords and comparisons: explore Shopee keywords and compare products across Shopee, TikTok Shop, and Lazada with DataPinter Radar.
Available features depend on your plan, marketplace, and region. Results may be cached or incomplete, and metrics can differ between sources. Use them for research and confirm important details with the marketplace. The connector does not place orders, contact sellers or creators, or modify marketplace listings.
Example questions
- “Use DataPinter to find wireless earbuds on Shopee Indonesia and compare their prices and reported sales.”
- “Find portable blender sellers on Lazada Indonesia and compare their available catalogs.”
- “Research Shopee keywords related to sunscreen in Indonesia.”
- “Find TikTok Shop affiliates related to skincare and summarize their available performance metrics.”
Account quota and MCP limits
Tool calls record research history and consume your existing DataPinter account quota. The MCP limits below apply in addition to your plan entitlements and quota, across your connector sessions.
- Up to 10 admitted tool calls per minute.
- 100 MCP units per day, resetting at midnight Asia/Jakarta (UTC+7).
- Up to two simultaneous tool calls.
- Up to 20 results per collection in a tool response.
- Affiliate detail and commission batches accept one to five unique IDs. Each ID consumes one daily MCP unit; other calls consume one unit.
Admitted calls consume MCP units even if the provider request later fails or is cancelled. Retrying can consume additional units. Connecting and discovering tools do not consume research units. Exhausting your normal account quota also stops MCP research calls, even if daily MCP units remain.
Troubleshooting
I cannot add a connector
Check your assistant’s connector settings and ask your workspace owner to enable access if needed. Use the server URL above, rather than the DataPinter website address.
Sign-in failed or the approval request expired
Start the connection again from Claude to open a new approval request. Sign in to the intended DataPinter account and complete the authorization. If your session has been revoked, reconnect.
A feature is unavailable
Check whether your DataPinter plan includes the requested feature and region. Free accounts can connect, but paid features still require the corresponding plan entitlement.
I reached a usage limit
Wait for the indicated retry time for rate or daily limits, or let active calls finish before starting another. If normal account quota is exhausted, check your quota in DataPinter; a daily MCP reset does not restore plan quota.
Results are missing or a provider request failed
Narrow the query, confirm the marketplace and region, and try again later. Some fields and metrics are unavailable from particular sources. Retries may consume additional quota and MCP units.
Manage or disconnect access
In DataPinter, open MCP → Connected sessions, find the assistant session, and select Disconnect. This revokes that session’s access. You can reconnect later. Disconnect other sessions separately if you authorized more than one.
Support and privacy
